Two new reports have been added today (9th August) to this website's E-Library Database on the controvertials subject of E-Cigarettes.
One report is from the Royal College Of Physicians, whilst the other hase been produced as a briefing document for members of the Hosue of Commons and The House of Lords. This comes from the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology.
Whislt it is not possible to give E-Cigarettes a clean bill of health because they have not been around for the length of time for the world wide testing of the products by the scientific community.
What is known as far as the immediate health concerns for smoker's is concerned, is that the carcinogins present in standard tobacco cigarettes; are not present in E-Cigarettes.
As a result, in the short term, it is considered that the benefits of being able to cut out smoking altogether with the use of E-Cigarettes; outweighs the known health risks at present. However, there is evidence that not all users of the product are quitting nicotine totally, which leads some to believe that users are swapping one addiction for another.
Both reports can be downloaded from the E-Library Database by selecting the search category of 'Tobacco and Nicotine'
